FAQ
How much time do I save compared to starting from scratch? Roughly two thirds. My shop took about 4–5 long working days with Claude: a third building, a third testing and fixing (payments, emails, permissions on the server), a third deciding how things should work. With this project, most of that is done: checkout, PayPal with webhooks, accounts, invoices, emails in five languages, admin, backups – and the bugs my tests found are already fixed. For a similar small shop in another country, expect about 1.5–2 days: your shipping prices and carrier, currency and texts, legal pages, products, hosting and testing. Add about half a day to a day for each larger extra you need (card payment via Stripe, VAT / sales tax, product variants).
Do I need to be a programmer?
No – I am not one either. I built it with Claude, and that is how you adapt it too. Give your AI
assistant this project and tell it to read CLAUDE.md first. You need to be comfortable with uploading
files by FTP and editing a text file.
Is there a manual?
Yes: MANUAL.md (on the website: Manual) explains the admin, what happens automatically, and how to change
pages and settings with a text editor and FTP. There is no online editor for pages.
Will you help me set it up / fix an error?
No. The project is offered as is. Your AI assistant is your support: describe what you see, paste the
error message (never your passwords or private/config.php), and let it explain.
Can I accept credit cards without PayPal (Stripe, Square …)?
Not built in. Buyers can already pay by card through PayPal without a PayPal account. Adding Stripe
is a typical half-day job for an AI assistant: see CLAUDE.md, "Typical adaptations".
What about VAT / sales tax? Not built in. The original shop exports from India (no VAT charged). If you sell inside the EU, the UK or the US, you probably have to charge tax – find out what applies to you, then have your assistant add the rules. This is the biggest piece of work for most sellers outside India.
Product variants (sizes, colours)? Not built in. Create one product per variant, or have your assistant add variants.
Which hosting? Any shared hosting with PHP 8.2+, SQLite and Apache (.htaccess). No database server needed. Admin → Server check tells you what is missing.
How many products / orders can it handle? It was built for a shop with a few dozen products and a few orders per day. A few hundred products and many orders per day are fine; it is not meant for thousands of products.
Can I move my WooCommerce shop? The original shop came from WooCommerce: old URLs keep working (redirects), and customers and orders were imported. The import tools were specific to that shop and are not included; your assistant can write them for your export files.
Is it secure? It follows the usual rules (prepared SQL, escaping, CSRF tokens, a strict Content-Security-Policy, verified PayPal webhooks, private data outside the web folder). Nobody has audited it. Keep PHP updated, use strong passwords, and test before going live.
Can I use it commercially / sell it / change the design? Yes. MIT licence: do what you like, just keep the licence file. No warranty.
Can I contribute? Publish your improved version yourself – the MIT licence allows it. I don't merge changes from others.
